Some of the celebration jewellery I have made has included the ring set in the photo (right) for the wedding of a pair of birdwatchers, trees and flowers engagement rings for a tree surgeon and a printmaker, an engagement ring featuring the Langdale Pikes for a climber, a rose gold and silver bangle with rubies to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversary, a silver ring incorporating an original gold wedding band for a 60th anniversary, and the recreation of a lost brooch for an 80th birthday... There's no limit really when it comes to creating a piece that is as original as the person who will wear it.

I work in both silver and yellow and white gold, but with the cost of silver tracking the price of gold, it has become a precious metal in its own right. There are also different types of silver from Sterling Silver (925), Fine Silver (999), Britannia Silver (975), and the new Argentium Silver (935). So, if you prefer the look of white metals, it is well worth considering silver or white gold for keepsake and heirloom jewellery such as engagement and wedding rings.
